Tying Perfect Mayfly Nymphs
$29.95
D1140In this highly successful DVD, you will learn seven of our own "Perfect Fly" mayfly nymph creations. These seven recipes were developed over many years of trout fishing. By varying the size and color of the fly tying materials, you will be able to create over 80 effective imitations of these important nymphs. You can imitate the stages of the mayfly hatch that the trout are eating all over the United States.
There are four basic types of mayfly nymphs and they are swimmers, burrowers, crawlers and clingers. The clinger mayfly nymphs resemble the burrower mayfly nymph about as much as the buffalo resemble a grizzly bear. The swimming mayfly nymph is streamlined in shape and does not resemble the crawlers either. For this reason, there are at least four basic types of mayfly nymph patterns and there are some variations within the four groups. It is true that some mayfly nymphs can be imitated by varying the size and the color, but others require different shapes or forms. This DVD will help you to learn how to recognize the variations in the mayfly insects and how to duplicate them in your perfect flies. While you will catch some trout on the "generic" flies, your odds of success will be greatly enhanced if the fly patterns are perfect imitations.
