FAQ
Question- Is this a real university/Can I get a degree?
Answer- No, this is not a “real” university with bricks and mortar. The information on this website and companion videos is far too practical and useful to be from the world of academia.
Question- Why are you doing this and how did you come up with this idea?
Answer- When we learned to fish, we had to do so from scratch. There were no fishing shows, or internet blogs, and we didn’t know anyone to teach us how. Now that we have years of experience fishing, collaborating, and evaluating, we are ready to share this information to help others learn.
Question- How do I enroll in TroutU University?
Answer- Enrollment is not necessary, simply visit the TroutU site as often as you like; and at your leisure. Take only the courses that are at your appropriate skill level and that capture your interest.
Question- How do I get started trout fishing?
Answer- To arm yourself with the knowledge you need to start catching trout, you are encouraged to visit the Trout University’s Curriculum for classes. Also, visit the University Library "for how to" books and videos and the University Store for exciting products. Look in the University Research Department for new products and prototypes.
Question- What is different/unique/better about Trout University?
Answer- Trout University offers an experienced, convenient, practical source for information about, thoughts on, and products for, trout fishing for beginners as well as the most experienced anglers.
Question- How many internet sites will I need to learn about trout fishing and improve my knowledgd. I know there are many trout fishing and fly fishing sites out there.
Answer- The most important advantage of troutu is that it is the only site that you will need. The staff is constantly reviewing 100's of sites and bring the fresh, pertinent information to you. Also, troutu has an experienced staff that has combined experience of over 100 years in all types of waters; and they will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. In addition, you may request to have classes on a topic of your choosing added for your own learning experience.
