I have fished the Little River just out of Sparta for thirty years. This years it has become a designated delayed harvest stream. I had opportunity to go last week and had good success. I confess that I am not a "purist." I love to fish with flies using an ultra lite spinning rig. Most success was on a wooly bugger with a couple of nice browns on a hopper. The Little River delayed harvest begins at Whitehead on Highway 18 and continues down beyond the rifle range. That's all the secret I'm going to share.

I live near a river that has an excellent salmon run in the fall. Does the presence of lots of salmon impact on the resident trout? Does it make them more shy and less eager to eat? Do the salmon hold in spots where trout would normally lie and if so, where do the trout go for the month or two where the salmon are plentiful?
