Trout Fishing Ethics.

God has made us a beautiful Earth to live in and more specifically, an outdoors to fish in.  One of the best aspects of trout fishing is the beautiful scenery.  Invaribly, trout are found in the most beautiful mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes and watefalls.  Many times, in pictures from the past, we see several, perhaps hundreds, of trout hanging from lines.  However, today, we realize that fish populations are down while pollution is on the increase.  It is our responsibility to leave the resources and the pristine outdoors no worse off for our being there, and to respect the rights of others as well.

1. Always purchase a valid trout fishing license as these fees help to maintain the trout population.

2, Take time to understand and adhere to the regulations as they are there to enhance the fishery.

3. Practice catch & release with single barbless hooks.

4. Have respect for the fish, handling the fish as little as possible.

5. Pack it in -pack it out:  Do not leave trash behind, especially plastics, cans or dirty diapers.

6. Do not trespass on private land; always ask permission and obey the answer. 

7. Respect the owner's property and do not break any fences or leave any gates open.

8. In parks or other public lands always follow the rules.

9. Respect the rights of others, including fishermen and  do not infringe upon their space.

10. Help others by sharing your experiences.
