After a very successful event last year, South Mountains State Park in North Carolina is again having their Nature Day scheduled for Saturday, October 17th and it will be the seventh annual event in the series.  A variety of programs, exhibits, hikes, and music are scheduled for your enjoyment.  The Rocky River Chapter of Trout Unlimited will again do demonstrations on fly tying as well as fly fishing which was so successful last year.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase.  Contact the park office for more information at 828-433-4772.

While at the Park, plan to spend the night (Reservations may be required) and learn about bats. Are bats blind? Do they fly into your hair? Do they turn into vampires? Join a Park Ranger at the Visitor Center at 2:00 pm to learn some Bat facts and have an opportunity to view some Bats. Get answers to these questions and more while attending.
